Frequently Asked Questions
When should I order?
The simple answer is to allow as much time as you can, in order to avoid disappointment. If you haven't decided exactly what you want your cake to look and taste like, you can still reserve the date with a small deposit.
Do you deliver?
I prefer to personally deliver all multiple tiered cakes but I am happy to deliver any of my cakes within Norfolk and Suffolk, if required. If the delivery service is crucial to your booking, I advise that you book in advance to avoid disappointment. However, if you'd prefer to collect your cake, you are welcome to do so. (Please note that if you collect your cake, I do not have any liability once it has left my premises).
Do you hire stands?
Most large venues can supply a cake base and knife. If this option is not available to you, then I can hire a base or stand and a cake knife for a small charge. (A deposit is required).
Can you make a personalised bride and groom topper?
To an extent, yes! The figurines are usually not big enough to include extremely intricate details but I can copy build and hair/eye colour. Brides have also been known to give me details of their dress to incorporate too, which is most obviously top secret until the big day!!
Can I mix/match tiers?
Absolutely - this is the best way to please all tastes! Please note, that if you want your tiers to be stacked on top of each other, the fruit cakes must be underneath any sponge based tiers.
Do you offer gluten-free cakes?
I am currently able to offer a gluten-free madeira sponge cake but, unfortunately, other flavours are still being subjected to my strict testing rituals.
Do you offer cake samples?
I do offer samples. There is a small charge for each sample ordered. However, this is offset against any future booking.
Do you have a pricelist?
As all cakes are made to order, and usually to a bespoke design, I prefer to quote for each cake individually. As a guide, however, expect to pay between £1-£2 per portion, depending on the level of decoration.
How do I pay for my cake?
For wedding cakes and celebration cakes over £100, a £50 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking. For all other cakes, a £25 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking. For all cakes, I require full, cleared payment 2 weeks prior to the date of delivery or collection.
